IT'S THE CHEMICALS, STUPID

Those are the words inscribed on a bumper sticker being distributed by the Ohio Network for the Chemically injured (ONFCI), a chemical sensitivity education organization. The bumper stickers will bring attention to problems caused by the toxic chemicals used in daily life including those in our food, clothing and other products and offer solutions for those problems. The article entitled, Murder in the Worst Degree, describes in some detail the broad range of diseases caused by chemical exposures which develop over a period of time and affect unsuspecting victims until their life is destroyed by cancer, asthma, chemical sensitization and other fatal diseases.

ONFCI engages in a number of activities designed to acquaint the public about this little known problem caused by involuntary exposures to chemicals in our environment. This non-profit organization is particularly concerned about children whose undeveloped immune systems are more susceptible. Children are many times unknowingly abused because they have absolutely no control over their environments which are typically left to the supervision of their parents, schools, lawmakers, and society in general who do not recognize the seriousness of these exposures because they may not see immediate symptoms.

It's the Chemicals, Stupid stickers starring Oscar and Ollie the ostriches, who have finally taken their heads out of the sand, are available from a wide range of outlets including The Bin, Nature's Pharmacy, Hobarts and other health food stores, N.E.E.D.S. which is a mail order organization providing less toxic products at (800) 634-1380; ONFCI at P.O.
